The story of a mom, a daughter, and a young man who lived in the West Village of New York was inspired by the stories of two women who lived there for years. Judy Raffel, a nurse, told her story in a series of letters, and a young man, who lives in the West Village, shares her story.

She said her experience in New York in her 20s and 30s was so unique she was sent to Canada in 2002 for the Canadian Food and Drug Administration’s (CFA) approval of Lamisil tablets for fungal skin infections. Lamisil, a topical antifungal agent, was approved by the FDA for the treatment of candidiasis in children ages 2 to 16.
“I went to the CFA office to get the product,” she said. “I told them it was so great that they could see a doctor who would prescribe it. I was so surprised they didn’t see me.”
Lamisil is approved by the FDA to treat up to 2 million fungal infections in children under 2 years of age. The medicine is available in a topical form, and is a prescription drug and is prescribed for the treatment of a variety of fungal infections, including athlete’s foot and other fungal infections of the skin.
